Jonathan Pollard – The Forgotten Man
Posted by Mark Shaw on February 22, 2010
Why is everyone scared to talk about the Jonathan Pollard case? When one mentions his name, people run the other way whether they are politicians, members of the intelligence community, or just plain folks who want to ignore this forgotten man.
Perhaps it is the truth that hurts, that is an embarrassment to our justice system and way of life. Sure, Pollard was guilty, he pled guilty, to helping his beloved Israel learn what it should have known all along – the impending threat from Iran to destroy its very existence. Yes, that is spying, and spying for a foreign country is wrong, but Pollard has paid the price for his crime a hundred fold over. If you do not agree, take a look at my book, Miscarriage of Justice: The Jonathan Pollard Story, to learn the facts. If you do, you will see that Pollard’s punishment, a life sentence, is way beyond the length of any sentence ever given to a person who spied of an ally of the United States.
The Pollard case is no longer about guilt or innocence, but about equal justice for all. Take a gander at Pollard’s official website and you will see what I mean.
